Nicole: ” I have received the new Hitech HMI but could not install the program”

A: ” Please confirm that the old HMI program does not have a password, and then refer to the wiring diagram I sent to you to check whether the wiring is correct.”

Nicole: ” No password, there is no problem with wiring, but also can’t install .”

A: “What is prompted on the computer?”

Nicole: “Error, required HMI model: PWS6A00T-P Connected HMI model? ”

A: “Reinstall using the latest version of ADP V6.12 software I sent you.

After Nicole re-operated with the latest version of the installation software, It was successfully installed.

In the past, there was a prompt “communication timeout” when the customer installed the program, or other various problems caused the program to be unable to install Hitech HMI.

How to download/upload the program?

The PWS6000 series requires software using the ADP V6.12 version.

1. Boot test

When the PWS is started, the PWS will check if the hardware project is normal, and the result of the check will be displayed in the LCD display area, as shown in the following figure:

If there is an abnormal project, “failed” will be displayed on the right side and “Error! Press screen to continue.” will appear at the bottom of the screen. If you touch the screen, it will continue to list the PWS self-test items; if the PWS disconnects the power or the computer interrupts the download in the download data, after restarting the power, the right side of the PWS check hardware test Firmware Checksum or Application Checksum item will be marked. “Failed”. This is normal. You only need to download the data again in the normal way to get the correct test result.

2. Download the program

Please use WPC-P8-42 to connect the RS232 communication port of PC and COM1 communication port of PWS. Please refer to the following figure to connect:

Be careful to disconnect the PWS power supply before connecting the wires, otherwise the communication electronic components may be destroyed!

If the DIP switch SW7=ON is set, after the PWS completes the power-on test, the system directory will be displayed on the screen as shown below. This means that PWS is ready to download the application.

In ADP, open the application file ready to download its plan, confirm the set communication parameters, and complete the compilation. Remember to compile and download the file before downloading the changed application file.

Whenever you download to PWS for the first time, users need to select “Apply/Download Software and Applications” from the function list; then select “Apply/Download Application” to download. When the PWS is downloading the application, the screen displays as follows:

3. Upload the program

The PWS can also upload the stored application software to the computer, so the application file can be stored as an ADP file (*.V6F) for later editing and application. Note: Please cut off the PWS power before connecting the wires, otherwise the original communication electronic components may be destroyed.

First connect the PWS to the computer and the wiring is the same as before. If the DIP switch SW7=ON is set, after the PWS completes the power-on test, the system directory should be displayed on the screen, indicating that the PWS is ready to upload its application.

Confirm the set communication parameters. Select “File/Upload Application” in ADP. The “Save New File” dialog box will appear, enter the file name (*.AF6) where the software data file is to be stored. Press “Save” to enter the password set in the working parameters on the PWS to start uploading. When the PWS uploads, the PWS screen will display the following screen:

After the PWS finished uploading, select “File/Rebuild Application File” in ADP, and the dialog box for opening the file will appear on the screen. Open the uploaded application file (*.C64 or *.AA6), then the application screen should appear in ADP, select “File/Save As File” and store it as *.V6F file, so this file can be applied and edited later. : Before you upload an application for the first time, the application must be executed before you can perform this function.
