One of our customer asking for help because their Mitsubishi servo cannot operate normally, and after connecting the encoder cable, the drive alarm show “AL16”
The customer checked the encoder and power cables, but no problem to determine the wiring, because they did not have a professional engineer, and the machine needed to resume work as soon as possible, so the matter was very urgent.
They are our old customer who has cooperated for many years and always purchase Mitsubishi, Omron’s PLC, servo from us, and sometimes we also help customers to source peripheral products, such as alarm lights, switch buttons and so on. So they contacted us for help at the first time. After communication with the customer, I described the problem to our engineering technicians and requested his assistance.
The servo MR-E-70AG-KH003（servo drive) + HF-KE73W1-S100 (servo motor) they used is an old version which has stop production for many years. And there are many reasons for displaying “AL16”, such as 1. An encoder cable is Malfunctioning. 2. The servo amplifier is malfunctioning. 3. Something near the device caused it. 4. The power voltage has been unstable…
After replacing the new encoder cable and power cable, the device still did not work properly. And further troubleshooting, the problem of line linking and voltage instability is eliminated, also the components around the equipment are checked to confirm that there is no problem.
Through the communication with the customer, the servo can operate normally a few years ago.,The machine has not been started for a long time, and it has been repaired several times. So our conclusion is servo fault was caused. Because the old servo models have been discontinued for many years, so we recommend the new upgrade model MR-JE-70A (servo drive) + HG-KN73J-S100 (servo motor) to replace the old one.
When the customer receives the new machine, our engineer immediately gives installation and technical assistance. We have solved customer problems smoothly and quickly, and now the equipment is running normally.
