A few days ago, A new friend came to us for help. They have two pcs WEINTEK hmi ( MT8101IE& MT8071IE) on their machine, and want to back up the programs on the touch screen, but they couldn’t find the settings page(setting Bar) to get the IP address of the HMI.
There are usually two methods for uploading programs, through IP/Ethernet, or via USB.
This friend was trying to use the first way. So he just turned OFF the DIP SW1,2,3,4 and restarted the HMI, after that the HMI should be into Normal mode and the setting Bar will be found on the right corner, enter the password ( initial password is 111111), get the IP address and match it with computer IP, then we can upload the program.
Remark: The screen IP and computer IP are in the same domain, that is, the first 3 segments are consistent, and the last segment is not repeated; The Subnet mask and Gateway must be consistent with the computer.
We asked this friend to follow the above steps but he said when restarting the HMI, he couldn’t find the system setting bar. From this, we conclude that the HMI setting system Bar has been hidden via software when install the program. So we advise that he use the second method “ USB”, the faster way. In fact, most models of WEINTEK HMI support USB disk to upload/download program. Prepare more than 32GB memory U Disk and insert into the touch screen USB port, wait for a few seconds, then the download/upload window pops up, click the upload button.
Remark: Initial password is 111111
This method no needs software & computer, cable…. just do it on the touch screen. Finally this friend solved the problem and backup program quickly.
Any other questions or suggestions about the HMI, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to answer and discuss. (email@example.com)
